Review: Phenomen'eyes mascara Givenchy...

Oh ladies what a day on Oxford street trying on make up and having so much fun talking to everyone at the different brands' counters. I originally walked in Debehams to buy my favorite perfum "Ysatis" de Givenchy, which I've been wearing for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I remember being amazed by my mother's French perfums, Chanel n°5 and Givenchy are very familiar to me.

I can defenetly say that anyone who knows me recognizes this particular fragrance straight away. An old french lady who I remember to be so charming and sophisticated once told me, to have that one perfum that people will remember me of, instead of using many. Fragrances have a very powerful effect on memory, you can suddenly remember an event or a person long forgotten just by the scent. Without mentioning its power to charm and enchant.

Carlos, one of the make up artists offered to do my make up using the above "Prisimissine" eyeshadow palette (above). He then applied the "Phenomen'eyes" mascara, and I'm so thankful he did! I was always thinking of trying it at some point but never got around to doing it. He applied it of one eye and let me try for myself on the other side, I was stunned straight away. Where do I start, it perfectly curls and separates lashes. It has a high-tech, patented round sphere at the tip of the precision wand that reaches every lash and adapts to all eye shapes.

The result? A beautifully fanned-out panoramic effect, holding the curve of your lashes perfectly in place. This mascara is effortless, no need to apply many coats (which means using less products) and it looks fab. If you want longer and natural looking lashes, then this is perfect for you. The eyeshadow palette is a little expensive, however the mascara is more than worth its price.(one might want to be careful thought while applying on the lower lash line, not to heurt the eye)

Price: £ 39.50 (Prisimissine eyeshadow palette, Givenchy)
         £ 20 (Phenomen'eyes mascara, Givenchy)
         £ 67 (Ysatis, Givenchy)

I was also offered these yummy Givenchy cupcakes.

And because I spent over £50, I received this Givenchy pouch, which I now use to store my make up for short trips. Doesn't it looks gorgeous!

Have ever tried any Givenchy products before? What do you think of the Phenomen'eyes mascara?

Review: Manly 120 palette...

The "Manly 120 palette" I ordered 3 weeks ago arrived and I'm very happy!

After watching countless reviews on youtube, i decided to give it a go and I'm not disapointed. I bought it from ebay for $30 (shipping included). Although it arrived with bubble wrap all around, some eyeshadow were cracked. It's easy to see that great care has gone into its packaging so I don't mind some of them beeing broken. I find this palette very handy, it really suits any looks one would go for. With a mix of matte and shimmery eyeshadows, most of them highly pigmented. Without mentionning its compact and slim case, easy to carry around. Considering the variety of the colors, the quality of the eyeshadows and the price and packaging, I would happily give it a thumbs up.

Do you already own one? What do think?

Street markets...

Here is a quick note on how sometimes we can find pretty colors nail polish for almost nothing. I bought this from an street market in Paris (just like the one on East Street in South East London), only for 1€ each. Nail polish from well known brands are great but don't dismiss the others, you'll be surprised by what you can find! These colors are coming at the right time... perfect for summer.

Georgous yet simple hairstyle...

Today I decided to plate my hair, since I was a little girl this has been a regular style of mine. My mother and sister have always been very happy to do it for me. As well as a great time to bond with them, it also brings back childhood memories of my culture so dear to me, from Madagascar.

It only takes 15 minutes and doesn't heurt. I keep it on all night and I undo them in the morning, to discover beautiful waves. This style is mainly great for two things:
  • Promoting hair growth
  • Creating waves without damaging the hair (with heat)

I have tried many different hair serum before and "Keralong shea butter serum" is by far my favorite. My hair feels so light, supple and soft, not greasy. This serum allowed me to keep it for 4 days, looking more gorgeous each day.

This hairstyle is so simple and natural, my hair absolutely loves it.

Have you tried plating your hair before? Would you prefer this to curling/waving irons?

Clinique 3 steps...

This is Clinique's 3 steps system
  • Step 1 Cleanse: Liquid facial soap (oily skin formula)
  • Step 2 Exfoliate: Clarifying Lotion 3 (for all skin type)
  • Step 3 Moisturise: Dramatically different moisturizing gel

I felt that my skin needed special care so I purchased it. After hearing so many great reviews I thought I would give it a go. Tried it for 7 weeks, once a day. It claims to soften, smoothe and improve the skin and I must admit that my skin was very clean and had a certain glow. However, along came horrible breakouts (even weeks after I decided to stop using it, it took a long time for my skin to get back to normal).

Will I purchase it again? No, it might be hit for other people but it was a miss for me. I didnt finish it and it's still there in my bathroom. My skin really hated the liquid facial soap and clarrifying lotion but the moisturizing gel was nice. I believe that if your skin already has problems such as acne, dark spots or blackheads it can help you solve it. But if your skin is not doing so bad then it probably won't be a great idea to risk using such harsh products.

Vera Valenti eyeshadow palette...

I found this gorgeous eyeshadow palette & thought I had to share it with you. On the palette there are 12 very pigmented colors. It's by Vera Valenti called "Haiti", and only cost me £5 online.
These four colors below are my favorites for the summer with gold and bronzy colors.
Applied on the lid, these greens look absolutely amazing.
Most of these colors can be compared to the ones found in more notorious brands.
